40 Great Nail Art Ideas - 3 Shades of Purple + Stamped

Hello!

This week, the theme was 3 shades of purple and my personal prompt was stamped.

Some of you may know.. I can never get a good stamping for the life of me. So I thought : "Hey. Let's make some decals instead!"...YEAH...uh. Not so much.

My three purple were Daddy Issues (trust Fund Beauty), Rapunzel (FUN Lacquer) and Purple Monkey Dishwasher (Pretty Serious) if you want to know before we begin.

I went with only two fingers because. (Maybe because I knew what would happened...Mh.) I think my major problem with stamping is I have CURVED nails.. -_- Like, really curved nails so when I apply the decals it always "wrinkle" at the tips..

Anyone else have curved nails and have any advices? PLEASE, help a sister!

I hope you liked it anyways even though it was a bit of a fail haha. The intention was there... :P

Happy polishing!

40Great Nail Art Ideas - Orange, Purple and Green + Saran Wrap

Hello!

I know, I am terribly late for the 40GNAI challenge! I first tried to do my mani Thursday and it was so much a fail, I couldn't bring myself to post this mani Friday. You know when you do something and while you do it you just say to yourself : "Stop. STOP. STOOOOP." but then you continues? It's what happen with my fail.

So I tried something different and I like it better!

First of all, my pattern and the color prompt had a potential of 99.99% of turning into a big mush. I knew it before I start. (Previously fail turned into the mush predicted.)

I decided for my second attempt to do the colors separate instead of trying to use them as a whole. Super simple skittlette, but I love it!

I used black to smudge the colors and because black is a Halloween color, of course!

I hope you liked it!

Happy polishing!

Review - Gold Nail Sticker from Born Pretty Store

Hello, hello!

Today I have something new to my blog! A review from Born Pretty Store! Yeah, I'm so excited for this!
I contacted BPS earlier in September and they were kind enough to send me three samples to show you! Let's take a look!

My first item is these gold stickers. (here, Product ID:21776) There are three different design on the sheet. Big bold chevron, three tiny chevron design and the heartbeat one. The three tiny chevrons aren't showed on the sheet because I totally forgot to take a picture before using them! Oops!

The stickers are "glued" to the sheet, so you will have to peel them first and then apply them to your nails. I chose to use the three chevron first and I went full hand with them. I immediately got a chic manicure without fuss.

This is what they look on my nails. My base color is Bye Felicia (by Trust Fund Beauty), a gorgeous vibrant purple with some pink undertones polish!

You can see that the glue of the sticker is really not visible to the eye. I pressed firmly when I applied them and I had a perfect define line without a white film surrounding it (I had it happened to me in the past!)

Even thought they are sticker, they are super fine and won't go bumpy once on your nails. I had troubles in the past with stickers because they were kind of 3-D and I didn't like it, but with these stickers, no problem at all!

Oh, and they are gold. Who doesn't love gold? This color makes everything better in my opinion, seriously.

I would recommend to use a topcoat to seal the design. I didn't do it because I was testing them for a short time, but if you want to extend the lifetime of your mani, definetely wear a topcoat.

If you ever want to buy something from Born Pretty Store, I have a discount code for you! Use "DEAEX31" at check out on items not already reduced for 10% off!

Happy polishing!

Watermarble with Pipe Dream Polish

Hello!

I think everyone knows that Pipe Dream Polish has the best polishes to do watermarble.

A Night In Vegas has been on my wishlist since it came out and I finally succeed at grabbing the whole set one day. It was one of those crazy restock she had and there was like 100+ oversold. I must admit I was worried I didn't get the chance to score one set. I waited for the email saying that I was one of her customer that had an oversold set, but then... nothing.

I thought to myself : "Just wait, you'll get that email".

Nothing. Nothing came. And then one day, I got my package from her. I was so excited!!

I, of course, had to do a watermarble to see if it was really working. It's not that I didn't believe what others said, it's just they are waaaaay better than me at watermarbling so it didn't really count. Do you know what I'm saying?

TADA! Magic happened, my friends. They spread so nicely and it was so easy to work with them, I wanted to cry of joy. No. Really.

I was so impressed with them, I could finally do a regular watermarble without all the cussing and the frustration!! I just wish I would have wore a white base to make the colors pop. NEXT TIME.

Thumb shot, because it deserves love too!

Hope you like it!

Happy polishing!

Watermarble with Girly Bits "Hoop! There It Is!" Collection

Hello!

I received not long ago the new collection from Girly Bits Cosmetics (some of it) and let me tell you. I FRAAAKING LOVE THEM.

They are inspired from the new favorite hobby of the GirlyBits chief: hula hoop! The collection is a total of 12 shades, I think? I only bought half of it. (Self control here haha).

Hello to you!

I still haven't catch up with all the blog posts so we shall continue this today! Three weeks ago I did a full in your face mani for the WNAC and I really loved it!

I bought new polishes from Harlow and Co a little while ago and I was eager to use them, so when it was time to do a mani for the WNAC I jumped on the occasion.

Dry Watermarble Made It Easy - Purple and White

Hello to you, Reader!
A few months ago, I tried the dry watermarble technique and did a mani I never had the opportunity to post until now. I followed a tutorial on Instagram and also the instructions of Pshiiit to make the technique successful.

I was really happy with the result, so let's take a look!

Nails Of the Weekend: Soul Fire By Ethereal Lacquer

It was sitting in my untried pile for some time when I finally decided to put it on my nails. I got this polish from Color4Nails back in the summer. When I saw swatches of this polish I fell in love. It was perfect, magnificient. I really liked this shade so I decided to buy it.

In the meantime, life happened haha. I bought others nail polish, fell in love with others and forgot my initial love. When I had the bottle between my hands I, must admit, didn't feel as attracted as I was when I saw swatches. I put it in my untried pile and it waited. Waited for its time.

Finally this week, I was looking through my untried pile and it caught again my attention. I let it out of the darkness and let it hit the light. That was the moment I re-fell in love. The holographic effect of this polish is truly amazing. Even when light isn't hitting right, it is a gorgeous shade.

Nails Of The Weekend: Pahlish's "La Belle Endormie"

Taking a short break from the 31DC to wear one of my many new pretties!

Fall is almost here and I'm really happy about it. I think over the years, it has become my favorite season. The colors in the trees, the cold air (but not too cold) and when the sun is there, wow!

Yesterday night, when I was searching for a new color to wear, I couldn't decide. I knew I wanted something dark, with a fall vibe... The problem is that I have a million of new pretties and I wanted to wear all of them! (Compulsive buyer heeeeeeere.)

I finally decided on wearing one of my new Pahlish. It's my first time buying from them and I was really amazed when I had them finally in my hands. The colors on my screen didn't prepare me for all this amazingness! They are so much prettier in real life! Making it harder to decide which one to wear first!

No more blabla. Let's see those nails!!

La Belle Endormie is a dark red/purple jelly full of gold shimmer. Very vampy, very fall!

I'm not at home at this moment, so I took the pictures with what I had.  Look at that gold shimmer peaking through! I wish it would have shown better on the pictures!

I just adore this shade. I will wear this one very often during fall. It has so much depth. Just beautiful.

What are you wearing on your nails this weekend?

Happy polishing!

31DC version 2.0: Day 3: Violet

Hello, Reader!

I'm back again with the 31DC! Today is day three and we had choice between violet or blue. It was a hard choice since I had ideas for both of the colors! Finally I settled down with the one that seemed a little bit more simple!

Onto the nails!

Purple Gradient Nail Art

Wooo. Time flies!

It's been almost three weeks since I last posted.

To be honest, I didn't have nothing interesting to post. I am newly employed at the hospital and I was in formation for the last three weeks. Since it's a pediatric hospital, they don't allow nail polish on their employees. Whaaaaaat. Yeah. You read it. So I was only doing my nails on the weekend when I was not working. And most of the time, it was only plain ol' color. (Pretty color, but only one color.)

Now, I began my certification and I'm back at school which means I can do mah nails!!! Happy dance!!

First thing first.

Yesterday was the Lacquer Legion time of the month and the theme was Weird Science. I was really excited since I am ''scientific'' person. I knew right away what I wanted to do. Biological Hazard Nails. That was the design I had in mind when I posted about this polish three weeks ago ;)

This is what it looked in the end. I'm really pleased with it! On my other hand I painted the nuclear sign, but I was too impatient so I smudged my design right after I was done! LOL. Oh well.

Products used: Generally Hazzardous (Pretty Serious Cosmetics) (So sad, we can't see the golden shimmer :( ) and Black On Black (Sinful Colors)

NOW. The real star of today's post. Gradient nails are the best thing. There is so much choice of colors. It's infinite. That's what I like so much about gradients. No one can make the same choice (except if you want to replicate someone's gradient. ;))

Indirect/Natural light.

Indirect/Natural light.

Indirect/Direct sun.

Isn't it beautiful??

Products used: "Well Isn't That Special" (Girly Bits Cosmetics), ''Relative Dimensions" (Above the Curve) and "Indie Go" (ILNP). I topped this beauty with HK Girl (Glisten and Glow)

Do you like gradient nails? What's your favorite color combo?

Happy polishing!

Pretty Serious Cosmetics; Nail Mail Of the Week

Woohoo ! Finally! I have my own camera! Since yesterday, I just take everything in photos. I JUST FREAKING LOVE my camera! She's perfect! (Yes, it's a she. I decided since it was perfect, it had to be a she. :P)

I received earlier this week this awesome package from Pretty Serious Cosmetics. It was a huge cross on my wishlist. I had these shades for ever on this wishlist and I finally took the plunge. I'm so glad I did it, too. They are perfec-tion.
That's all the shades I bought in their cute little box!

+

Grimm Demise is a sparkly teal polish. I could keep watching this polish for ever and still be amazed. True Story.

 +

Stuck In The Middle is an iridescent pink/red. It's from the newest collection, I'm pretty sure about it. It has shimmer and it was really hard to capture all the amazing-ness. I tried my best. :)

Look at all these reflections. Wow. I don't find another word to describe Stuck In the Middle.

+

88mph is the one I was the most excited about. Not only because it's inspired by Back To The Future (HOW COOL IS THAT, HUH?), but also because it's so SPARKLY! I just kept looking at this polish and didn't know what to do with all my excitement.
The sun wasn't cooperating so I don't have a picture with the sun. It kept hiding until I was done. Mean sun!

 +

Mummy Mush is a golden glass shifting duochrome. Pictures don't do it justice!

+

Purple Monkey Dishwasher... Oh.em.gee. Another lemming of mine. I mean, look at this perfection!! It's so amazing. This shade is so aaaaaargh. I love it. I can't wait to put in on my little nubs :D

 +

Generally Hazzardous is an orange with golden shimmer. I'm not an orange person usually, but this shade rocks. I already have a design for this one!!

Bonus picture to see the golden shimmer!

Have you bought previously Pretty Serious Cosmetics ? What is your favorite color?

 Happy polishing!

Black Sheep Lacquer Subscription Box (May)

For my very first blog post, I want to talk about Black Sheep Lacquer.

She was one of my very first indie I bought when I decided that I was trusting someone I didn't know who lives across my country with my money. Black Sheep Lacquer is a Canadian indie polish maker, 3-free and Leaping Bunny Certified. How cool is that! You can use her polish safely and no puppy/bunny/kitty were harmed during the process!

Few months ago, she started a subscription box. Every month she will ship to you 2 bottles of nail polish and a mini no-name for 19$(CAD) if you're in Canada or 15$(US) if you're in the US.

This month the colors were picked from her new collection (Zelda-inspired)! I got Hero, Golden Power and Magic Mirror with the mini purple. Wait.... If you're smart, you noticed that there are more than 3 on the picture. But.. How? Well first thing first. I ordered the subscription box before and then she released the new collection. When I saw Dark Knight, I knew I had to had this one! So I bought this perfection in a bottle. With Purple Planet, because I was lusting after this one for months now.

Erin, who is so sweet, e-mailed me asking if I wanted to combine my 2 orders and have 1 more bottle of polish... Of course, I accepted. Who doesn't want a extra polish, huh? No one. That's right.

Hero (Green), Dark Knight (Purple Duochrome), Purple Planet (Green Duochrome), Golden Power (Gold), Magic Mirror (Silver) and a purple/lavender unnamed
I must confess that I was not one of those cool kids who played Zelda when I was younger. Even if I don't know exactly to what it refers I can say that they are pretty cool!

Hero, Dark Knight, Purple Planet, Golden Power, Magic Mirror, Unnamed Purple
I am really excited to wear these beauties! Right now, I wear Dark Knight on my nails. Duochrome are the best thing created, just FYI.

Maybe I'll try to do swatches.. Just need to understand how my camera works haha!
