40GNAI - Coral + White + Aztec and Review for Born Pretty Store

Hello, hello!

This week's prompt was Coral + White with my personal one Aztec.

I decided to do a gradient and then stamped some Aztec design on top. There was no way I was going to freehand them this week. I don't know why but I find it difficult to paint Aztec/Tribal designs on my nails. It always ends up looking like a catastrophe.

Like I said I did a gradient with Live.Love.Carnaval. by OPI and Fiji by Essie.

My coral looks orange. I know. Can't figure out why. Do you have any recommendations?

After it dried a little bit I added the stamping. I use a regular white stamping polish from Born Pretty Store and use my clear jelly stamper to stamp the design on my nails.

Disclaimer: Not my picture, it is from the Born Pretty Store site

The clear jelly stamper was from Born Pretty Store, too, and I was very pleased to see that it didn't need to be "prepped". It picked the image right up and stamped perfectly. It is a little bit more squishy than my other clear jelly stamper that I got from LadyQueen.com. As a matter of fact I think I like it better. Squishier and stickier :) I guess it depends on the person :)

If you want to buy from Born Pretty Store, you can always use my coupon code : DEAEX31!
If you want to buy nail art items from LadyQueen, you can use this code too: DXYS15!

I hope you liked it and I'll see you next week!

Happy polishing!

Landscape Nail Art

Hi!

Here's a quick post on some cute landscape I did a little while ago!

I found my inspiration while I was looking through Google pictures. The little cow amused me so I thought it would be fun to recreate it on my nails.

I did a pretty simple version of the original photo. I'm still not used completely to make realistic landscape so they still have a cartoon-y feel to them.

While they may not be perfect, I was pretty proud of them!

What do you think?

Happy polishing!

WNAC - Animal Print + Gradient

Hi, Reader!

We seem to see each other pretty often, don't we?

I'm kinda back on track with my blog (also I have a month and more to catch up), SO, blog posts shall I write!

This one was made for the the WNAC.. Sometimes, something looks awesome in your mind and then.. not so much on your nails haha.

I was aiming for a tropical fish. But I don't know if we can tell. They took so much time, I couldn't just bother to redo them. It was a mildly fail, but they look weirdly cool from far away. At least, I think.

For this look I used my new beloved Pipe Dream Polish "A Night In Vegas Collection" polishes. They are wonderful for watermarble, for gradients, etc. They are. the. bomb.

See, what I mean when I say they look weirdly cool from far away?

Also, like you can imagine I didn't take much photos because FAIL.

I hope you enjoy it even though it was a fail ;P I'll be back with something that look a little bit less like a total failure!

Happy polishing!

WNAC - Reciprocal Gradient

Hello!

Gradient is, like you may know, my favorite thing to do. I could wear it all the time in every color combination possible. Reciprocal and scaled gradient are something I recently discover and MAN, I AM IN LOVE. It more time consuming, right, but the effect is so awesome that I don't care the extra time at all.

Imagine my happiness when it was the theme two weeks ago. YASS.

52 Week Challenge - Orange, Red and Yellow

Hello to you!

I initially didn't post this mani on my blog because I thought it was not my best clean-up job and the pictures were kinda meh. Now, I'm thinking what the heck. This is my blog and it helps me to see the evolution of my skills over time, so I'll post the mani.

It was for the 52 Week Challenge (I've been slacking these past weeks I'm so behind on some prompts...) .

Gradient with Colors By Llarowe polishes + Chevrons

Hi all!

I thought it was time I get back on the game and posted some nails I didn't previously post on my blog. I'll try to catch up a little bit and show you a few manis that didn't make it to the blog but were posted on Instagram over the few days!

Shall we begin?

First in this serie is a gradient and chevron mani I did a month ago (already!)

Nails Of The Weekend!

Whoa. It's been a while, Reader!

I had some traumatic break during the last few weeks, so my motivation took a slap in the face (You like the image in your head?) It's sound so superficial "I broke a nail, my life is done", but I can assure you I'm not THAT superficial, it's just that it pissed me off I didn't want to do anything with the traitor. (I had to wear a Band-Aid three days because of this sucker!)

Anywaaaaays! Let's forget this and focus on something more happy!

I started initially with an idea in my head, but while I was searching for the right tools, it looked like I didn't have what I thought I had. (I'm not sure it's even a real sentence. Doesn't it seems like it have too much verbs?) I changed my plans and this is what I came with!

Inspired By: SimplyNailogical's Neon Holo Jellies Skitttle

Hello!

Lately I bought the Neon Galaxy Set from Beyond The Nail (because of SimplyNailogical haha) and I was dying to do her neon holo jellies skittle.

I started by doing a clear to black gradient on my nails then applied a coat of the neon holo jelly. I was little bit impatient and not careful enough so it all smeared and it was a disaster. We couldn't see the gradient anymore! I wanted to do this mani too quickly so I guess this is my fault.

The next day, I started over with a white to black gradient, let it dried thoroughly and then, I applied a thin coat of different jelly on my nails. HALLELUJAH! It worked! I waited a few more minutes and went over the part where it had the white part of the gradient (I don't know if it makes sense haha) and applied a second coat of jelly.

It was really easy to do, I swear. Only a traditional gradient and two coat of holo goodness in jellies. I had to use all of my new Beyond The Nail's polishes, because they are so pretty!

The colors in the bottle don't really show the neon-ness, but you'll have to trust me, they are BRIGHT!

A shot of Mr.Thumb because we don't really see him often.

You see that holo sparkle. Me likey!

I hope you liked this mani. t was totally inspired by @simplynailogical, so all the credits go to her for being awesome and creating such cool manis!

Happy polishing!

31DC version 2.0: Day 31: Recreate Your Favorite Challenge

Hello to you, Reader!

Today is the last day of the 31DC version 2.0. It may have been hard sometimes, but I've done every single one prompt I was told to do! I had some favorites, some less favorites.. But in the end, I'm really proud of myself for finally doing a nail art challenge.

During these months, I discovered some great nail artist all around the world. Yeah for new inspiration to looked up to!

So. My favorite challenge had to be the gradient one. It was the first time ever I had done a scaled gradient and JESUS, I'm lovin' this kind of gradient!

I knew I wanted to take inspiration from SimplyNailogical again.. I had the perfect mani in my mind.. The quadruple scaled gradient a.k.a the crazy Mexican rug she did a few weeks ago (or maybe a month or so).

31DC version 2.0: Day 30: Nails Vinyls/Tape

Hello!

Today is day 30 of the 31DC version 2.0, so, you know what it means... It is almost over. One last prompt and I'll be done with this challenge!

I will have to find other challenges, because they make me go out of my comfort zone and even if sometimes I find it hard, I like it!!

I have already planned on joining the 52 Weeks Challenge (not sure if I'm going to do all the weeks, but some of them at least) in January. I think I'll join also the FingerFood's Buffet Theme when it comes back in January. I'd like to join other, like WNAC and The Nail Art Guild. I'm sure there is one more, but I can't remember the name.

Yes. I know. Busy year planned. I'll say it now. I won't do all the prompts in every challenge, but I think it will be interesting to be known in others challenges :)

ANYWAYS.

The nails.

I bought a few months ago some accessories from Shesellsseashells.uk and never used them. I had bought a sheet of mermaid scale and was waiting patiently to do a mani with it. WELL. I finally used them! Yay!

31DC version 2.0: Day 27:Gradient

Since the first time I saw +Simply Nailogical on Instagram, I fell in love with gradients (even more than before.) She's the Master, the Queen of All Things Gradients.

Truly, she's a beast when it comes to gradients. She can do one of those AH-mazing gradients, scaled, reciprocal and glittery gradients like no one.

Like you can guess, she was my inspiration for this prompt!

I must admit, I was kind of scare of doing my first scaled gradient... Turns out, I want to do a million more!

31DC version 2.0: Day 23: Indie/Day 24: Half Moon

What? Two prompts in one? You crazy girl!

Indie... that's so vague. How can you choose only one indie? I feel like if you choose only one indie, you may offend others. That's my humble opinion. I had so many untried indies, I decided to make a big mash-up and use as many as possible in the prompt.

I remembered in September when the traditional 31 Day Challenge was running, I saw @morenailpolish's half moon and I thought: "Wow, that's cool". Screenshot.

31DC version 2.0: Day 22:Glitter

I had other things in mind when I read this prompt. But, as always, things happen in life and you sometimes don't end up doing your first idea.

Maybe I was lazy that day or just bored with.. I don't know. Life. I looked and nothing was good enough. I finally picked an untried and do something really simple. I don't think it's my better shot.. but I got over it. ;)

31DC version 2.0: Day 19: Art

Whew, I'm getting really late again.

Day 19 brought me some really nice ideas, but I had so much ideas, it was like having none. My mom and I, we used to go often at museum and art exposition. Now, I can't go as much I would want, but we still go some times.

I saw a lot of artists and styles, I didn't really know what to do. It was when I was on IG and looking through the hastag that I saw someone mentioning Salvador Dali. I remembered seeing his art at many museums and in child movie (Looney Tune: Back In Action, anyone?). Anyways. When people read Dali, they immediately think about his melting clocks, but I thought about his disproportionate elephants.

I'll show a photo of my inspiration:

Purple Gradient Nail Art

Wooo. Time flies!

It's been almost three weeks since I last posted.

To be honest, I didn't have nothing interesting to post. I am newly employed at the hospital and I was in formation for the last three weeks. Since it's a pediatric hospital, they don't allow nail polish on their employees. Whaaaaaat. Yeah. You read it. So I was only doing my nails on the weekend when I was not working. And most of the time, it was only plain ol' color. (Pretty color, but only one color.)

Now, I began my certification and I'm back at school which means I can do mah nails!!! Happy dance!!

First thing first.

Yesterday was the Lacquer Legion time of the month and the theme was Weird Science. I was really excited since I am ''scientific'' person. I knew right away what I wanted to do. Biological Hazard Nails. That was the design I had in mind when I posted about this polish three weeks ago ;)

This is what it looked in the end. I'm really pleased with it! On my other hand I painted the nuclear sign, but I was too impatient so I smudged my design right after I was done! LOL. Oh well.

Products used: Generally Hazzardous (Pretty Serious Cosmetics) (So sad, we can't see the golden shimmer :( ) and Black On Black (Sinful Colors)

NOW. The real star of today's post. Gradient nails are the best thing. There is so much choice of colors. It's infinite. That's what I like so much about gradients. No one can make the same choice (except if you want to replicate someone's gradient. ;))

Indirect/Natural light.

Indirect/Natural light.

Indirect/Direct sun.

Isn't it beautiful??

Products used: "Well Isn't That Special" (Girly Bits Cosmetics), ''Relative Dimensions" (Above the Curve) and "Indie Go" (ILNP). I topped this beauty with HK Girl (Glisten and Glow)

Do you like gradient nails? What's your favorite color combo?

Happy polishing!
