40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Pale Blue Base + Squares

Whoa!

It's been a while!... 2016 is here, so I thought I'd get back on track and do what I was supposed to do the last two weeks (woops).

Today's prompt is pale blue base with a special pattern. You remember, each one of us has a different pattern.. Mine was squares!

The original idea is coming from Packapunch, I think. She did it with different colors, but I chose to stick with the blues..

So here it is! A pretty simple looking mani, but it took some time and a little bit of my sanity haha.

I almost never use striping tape. I remember now why... IT TAKES FOREVER.

Ahem.

I used striping tape and kinda make a grid and then filled some space and tried to remove all the tape before the polish dries.

I used a bunch of polishes for this mani. My base is Daydream (Enchanted Polish) and the little square were made with I Cannoli Wear OPI (OPI), Spirits of the Moors (A-England) and Mojito (Beyond the Nail). I really like the combination, do you?

I hope you like it. I'll see you next week!

Happy polishing!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Glitter Top/Flakie + Sponged

Hello!

Today's post will be really short. I missed last week instalment of the 40GNAI and I am really sorry. Sometimes, life gets in the way and lately it seems it is getting more in my way.. Anyways.

The main prompt for the group was Glitter Top or Flakie.. and mine was sponged. Super easy, right? I decided to do a glitter gradient with one of my polishes I hadn't use in forever!

I used for my base color "Got Yacht?", a really dark blue, by Trust Fund Beauty and then I sponged "Oxygen Bar" from Loaded Lacquer on my tips :)

So much pretty glitters in this glitter polish :) Neon pink, lilac, neon blue, grey/white..

I think the base make pop the glitters a little bit more, don't you think?

That's it for this week, I'll see you next week!

Happy polishing

Watermarble with Pipe Dream Polish

Hello!

I think everyone knows that Pipe Dream Polish has the best polishes to do watermarble.

A Night In Vegas has been on my wishlist since it came out and I finally succeed at grabbing the whole set one day. It was one of those crazy restock she had and there was like 100+ oversold. I must admit I was worried I didn't get the chance to score one set. I waited for the email saying that I was one of her customer that had an oversold set, but then... nothing.

I thought to myself : "Just wait, you'll get that email".

Nothing. Nothing came. And then one day, I got my package from her. I was so excited!!

I, of course, had to do a watermarble to see if it was really working. It's not that I didn't believe what others said, it's just they are waaaaay better than me at watermarbling so it didn't really count. Do you know what I'm saying?

TADA! Magic happened, my friends. They spread so nicely and it was so easy to work with them, I wanted to cry of joy. No. Really.

I was so impressed with them, I could finally do a regular watermarble without all the cussing and the frustration!! I just wish I would have wore a white base to make the colors pop. NEXT TIME.

Thumb shot, because it deserves love too!

Hope you like it!

Happy polishing!

Little Monsters Nail Art + Peri Me by ILNP

Hello, hello!

I thought I'd pass by and write a quick post before going back to do nothing because it's Saturday and I'm feeling pretty lazy now.

I did these nails last month and I was in love with them. It was the first time I was using a "decent" pain brush for details and I was oooh-ing during all the process.

*

It took me a while doing the little monsters, but it was totally worth it.

I found my inspiration on shutterstock, I think for this one. I find myself going on this site often when I don't have anything particular in mind.. You should go too. ;)

Hope you like it!
Happy polishing!

Nailmail Of the (Last) Week: Parental Advisory Polish!

Hello!

Recently I bought from Parental Advisory Polish and I hadn't time to post about it until now.

Disclaimer: This ain't your mom's polish.

Parental Advisory Polish is known for her naughty names. Some may find it offensive, personally I don't have problem with the names.

Hello, Reader!

So, the catch up is going strong and today I'll be showing you my glitter placement I had done for the Weekly Nail Challenge. It was my first time doing this kind of nail art and, well, I still need practise but that was so much fun to do! I remembered that week I couldn't sleep so I woke up at like 7:30 am and I started doing this glitter placement haha.

"Eyre" by piCturepOlish

The story begins like this:

One day, I'm doing my nails when suddenly: crisis. My HK Girl Top Coat is almost empty. First reaction: "That's fine. I'll go on NailPolishCanada and buy another bottle so I won't have to wait too much for my bottle to arrive."

I go on NailPolishCanada.com and put HK Girl Top Coat in my cart... They recently began to charge for shipping and if you buy more than 25$, it's free (in Canada, not US). So.. you begin to understand?

I couldn't just buy a topcoat and leave. Right? Riiiiight?
I had to make it worth it.
Here comes "Eyre" by piCture pOlish. (I also bought Paris but didn't get the chance to wear it!)

I had to buy this one, not only because the color is freaking amazing but also because, Eyre. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. Ring a bell? I loved this book even if it's kind of dramatic and sometimes dark.

52 Week Challenge - Pale Blue + Flowers

Hello!

Today's post is all about the 52 Week Challenge. I wanted to incorporate the two theme this week since they go so well together.

Earlier this week, I received my package from Renaissance Cosmetics from her last restock. I immediately wanted to wear all of them, but since it was impossible I decided to at least wear four of them. Yes. Four. They are in the blue family so they were perfect for my idea I had.

I started with a plastic bag base (polishes used were Reverie, Footprints in the Snow and Cursed). I was a little bit heavy-handed on the application so we can really see the difference between Cursed and Reverie. That's why I included a little bit more close-up.

Reverie is the lighter shade and Cursed is the darker shade. Can you see it?

I haven't done a rose in a really long time so I thought it would be the perfect time to try again. Overall, even if it's been a long time I think they turned out pretty. I used Melancholia from RenCo for the flowers.

You kinda can see Melancholia in the background. I love my new shades from Renaissance Cosmetics so much !! I'm pretty excited to try Sex, Death and Rock'n' Roll and Out of the Darkness!

Hope you loved the mani!

Happy polishing!

Hello Reader!

I think my new resolution for this year is to swatch all my untried polish in my untried box. I have a lot of nail polish just sitting there, waiting for their moments. Like you already know, this will be a work in progess since everytime you take one nail polish out, three come in. Haha. You know what I'm talking about, right. HOOOOOARDER.

Throwback: "Sailor" by Mentality Nail Polish and BornPrettyStore Water Decals

Throwback to my short nails!

They are so cute ahah. I think I'll cut them down after the 31DC2. I am kind of bipolar sometimes, like I loooove little nubs, but I think long nails are kick-ass. I live in a constant dilemma! :(

But, I think it will be time to start fresh!

Onto the nails now:

31DC version 2.0: Day 26: Realism

Hi, all!

For this prompt, I didn't know what to do, because I had like three zillions ideas. Realism nail art is becoming by far my favorite kind of nail art! That must be my artist spirit who just want to paint absolutely everything on my nails! After all, nails are little canvas!

31DC version 2.0: Day 13: Geometric

Wait, what?

There's no post for day 12?? Since this prompt was a complete failure for myself, I didn't really take much photos so it would be completey useless to put them here.

If you absolutely want to see them, I have one on my IG (@irrationails)

Now that we cleared this mysterious disappearance, let's talk about day 13. I had so much ideas for this one and I settled down to my design only because I wanted it to be challenging. Well it was!!

I was inspired by Nailuminium and her geometric diamond. Her work is truly amazing. She can make intricate designs and it looks sooooo nice! She even make tutorials so beginners can try to replicate her designs!

Loaded Lacquer: Nail Mail of the Week

Hello to you, Reader!

Last week, I received a package from Loaded Lacquer at my mom's house. Since I moved out I have to wait to get my things. I was so excited when she brought it with her when she came to see me !

I bought three new polishes from Heather, maker of Loaded Lacquer, and I would have bought more.  I need to control myself when I shop on her site. Everything she makes is beautiful and well thought.

For today's pictures I tried to take them in my homemade light box I finally made yesterday. I didn't have something long and large enough to make all the height so you can see a line. Oh well. Perfection doesn't exist, huh. If everything goes as I planned I should have my ''real'' light box by Friday. Exciting. This nail thing is getting real!

Enough with the rambling. Onto the nail mail !

She changed her logo, it's less bling-y. I don't know which one I prefer, her new one or old one. Aren't they pretty all lined up?

Megalodon is a blue/grey crelly with triangle glitters (white and silver), hexagons (two different blues & silver) and flakes (lavender.) It is beautiful and I can't wait to wear it even if the Shark Week is over. I'm crazy like that.

No Bra is a light pink crelly. It's from the Nude Jiggle Trio. I only bought this one because I felt like the others two weren't really me even if the name were funny enough to consider to buy them. It looks so simple and chic. I'm glad I purchase this one.

Dragon Fruit is a crazy pink neon crelly. It's so bright in "real life". I couldn't get the right shade even if I try everything. This kind of color just doesn't want to be taken in picture. I feel like it's a summer shade. I'll probably wear this one in the middle of the winter when I'll get sick of the weather.

Loaded Lacquer is one of my favorite indie brand, because she brings something new every time she releases new polishes. Her combination and choice of color/finish is pure Genius! Do you own any Loaded Lacquer polishes? Which one is your favorite?

Happy polishing! I'll see you Thursday, Reader!

Blue, Bling & Black!

I'm on fire!

haha.

Seriously. I think it's the first time I post twice in the same week. Maybe this blog will see more life in the future!!

I'm so happy to be back at school. It's funny because when I graduated I was like: "School. Never. Again. I swear." And then, there's me, three months later. "I can't wait for school to begin.."

AAAANYWAY.

Onto the nails!

I manage slowly but surely to reduce my untried pile. You know that pile who never seems to be ending. It just keeps adding and adding. Until you have to restrict yourself. (Or at least try with a no-buy...)

I used for this mani two untried: "A Stripper Has Been Sleeping In My Bed" by GirlyBits and
"Pacific Blue" (the new horrible formula) by Sally Hansen.

I wanted something simple with a little touch of glitter. BECAUSE GLITTER.

It was only until I took the pictures that I saw that my cuticles were dry. Poor little things. Sorry for your eyes, ladies. (We shall not talk about my cleaning. Seriously, I don't know what happened.) Look only the nails, try to focus. I'm going to give them some TLC!

Indirect/Natural light

I really like "A Stripper Has Been Sleeping In my Bed". It's so glittery. And the name. The name gets an A+.

Indirect/Natural light

Indirect/Sun (Yes I changed my hand. What the..)

You can see on the last picture I had a little problem with my chevron. I didn't apply my vinyls right so this is what it looks like when you don't follow the rules, kid!

Products used: "Pacific Blue"(Sally Hansen), "A Stripper Has Been Sleeping In My Bed" (GirlyBits) and "Black On Black"(Sinful Colors)

Happy Labor Weekend! (For those who don't work... like me..)

Happy polishing!
